Your closing date is approaching and it’s time to start preparing your down payment. Perhaps you need to transfer money from another account or go to the bank for certified check. However you choose to handle your down payment now is the time to start making plans.

At least three days prior to closing you will receive the Closing Disclosure. This disclosure breaks down all of the costs associated with getting a loan and the amount of money you need to bring to the closing table. Make sure that you verify all of the numbers with your lender so we’re all on the same page when we get to closing. Also ask you lender what form of payment is best.

TAKE SPECIAL NOTICE: You will never get an email from me instructing you to wire your funds.  If you receive an email that appears to be from me, the lender, or the title company saying to wire your funds, make sure that you call your lender or title company to verify that it is indeed from them. There are hackers/scammers who are sending emails (which look totally legit) to buyers with phony wiring instructions. Do NOT fall for it! Here’s a video explaining the latest online scam that you need to be aware of.
